Media Conference about current state of NRP 78 research
On September 6, 2022, a media conference was held in the media center of the Federal Palace in Bern with an interim assessment on research in NRP 78.
A total of 114 projects on Covid-19 were supported by the Swiss National Science Foundation with a funding of over CHF 45 million. An introduction to SNSF corona research was given by Nicolas Rodondi, professor at Inselspital and member of the SNSF National Research Council. This was followed by an insight into Covid-19 serology research by NRP 78 researcher Isabella Eckerle, professor at the University of Geneva. Volker Thiel, professor at the University of Bern and NRP 78 researcher, provided information on the status of vaccine research in Switzerland. Marcel Salathé, professor at EPFL and president of the NRP 78 Steering Committee, presented other NRP 78 research projects and gave an interim assessment after two years of the Corona pandemic.
